This lunette (French lunette, "little moon") is a half-moon shaped oil on canvas painting of the dome of the USNA Chapel.

This lunette is set to sit above an interior door; the painting is in the form of a round-headed arch. (If the door is a major access, and the lunette above is massive and deeply set, it may be called a tympanum.)
