George Washington Arrives in Philadelphia

When George Washington arrived in Philadelphia in 1787, he was greeted with great enthusiasm and respect as a national hero. His attendance at the Constitutional Convention added legitimacy to the proceedings and helped bring unity to the delegates. Washington’s steady leadership played an important role in shaping the discussions that led to the creation of a new Constitution.
