August 1786
August 1786 - Shays’ Rebellion: Shays' Rebellion was an armed uprising in western Massachusetts from 1786 to 1787, led by Revolutionary War veteran Daniel Shays. Farmers, burdened by high taxes and debt, protested economic injustices and the state’s harsh policies that led to property seizures and imprisonment. The rebellion exposed weaknesses in the Articles of Confederation and helped prompt the creation of the U.S. Constitution.
